About the job
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented enthusiastic team player who is looking for an entry into the art profession. They will be the first point of contact for visitors, and assigned ad-hoc duties as required.
Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact for visitors
- Preparing beverages for client meetings and visitors.
- Helping clients with requests.
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Distribute mail
- Keeping the showroom appearance to a high standard. Occasional need for cleaning of stands and general up-keep.
- Running various external errands
- Organising lunch for staff; ordering/collecting food, table setting and cleaning after dining.
- Overseeing office supplies and making all purchases for stationary, books, equipment etc, when required.
- Working with the EA to manage diaries and reservations.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask and problem solve.
- Professional and presentable manner.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a small, close-knit team.
- Ability to handle high pressure situations and adapt quickly.
- Experience with expenses and basic petty cash handling.
This is a multi-tasking role in a beautiful gallery environment, and a wonderful opportunity to acquire new skills and gain knowledge of commercial art galleries and ancient artefacts. You will be part of a welcoming atmosphere, and play an important role within the business.
