GALLERY DIRECTOR LONDON
Focus – To drive omni channel growth (online and offline) for the fine art photography business. You will develop and implement sale strategies to position the business as a dynamic, engaging and forward thinking photography gallery of record in the UK and around the world. You must have a deep understanding of the photography and collecting worlds with a sales-generating focus, have developed strong audience engagement practices (and come with a roster of loyal clients, private dealers, art-world communities) and be excited to imagine and actively communicate the future opportunity of the gallery internally and externally. Reporting to the Cultural Director based in Paris with a dotted line to the Chief Digital Officer based in NY, this role will have exceptional daily autonomy. This requires a proactive approach in order to be successful. You will work in collaboration with cross-functional teams (Paris gallery, content, marketing and operations teams) and communicate with existing and new clients, executive stakeholders, photographers and members of the public regularly.
Leadership and Relationship Management:Work with team to gallery team to define the purpose and vision for physical and online galleryspaces, in relation to our existing and potential collector base.
Create strong working relationships with photographers and estates to build trust and understand their existing fine art practice and add value.
Define, hire, lead and coach the Gallery team in London, high standard , performanc are key.
Collaborate with digital content and marketing teams to make full use of owned channels including tailed content newsletters, public discussions with and between photographers, and other online activities< Develop tactical and strategic partnerships ; Identifiy and manage new collecting opportunities / curation and sales strategy. 7-10 years of experience with sales and artist management at a contemporary art gallery or similar arts space 3+ years of experience managing teams, including defining team. Marketing and PR experience strongly preferred French-speaking is a plus
